Welcome to the website of the Royal British Legion, The Somme Branch.
Our aim is to provide a Royal British Legion Somme branch, which is based on the Battlefield of the Somme, open to all within the guidance of the Royal British Legion. Service, ex-service, and civilian men and women can enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded people, joining together to ensure that the sacrifice, efforts, and the interest of our past and present service personnel will never be forgotten.
Although we are uniquely based on the Somme, where some of the bloodiest fighting in which our Commonwealths Navy Army and Air forces fought, we have members from all corners of the UK and from France, Belgium, Germany, Canada and Australia.
We have eight meetings a year, the 1st July and 11th November are always on the Somme. The remaining six are spread between meetings in the UK, Ypres, and the not so visited corners of France Belgium or Germany. In fact we will meet wherever our members suggest and decide a meeting and Act of Remembrance would be appropriate.
